Michigan Farm Bureau
The Michigan Farm Bureau has long been a voice for Michigan Agriculture. The Farm Bureau supports agriculture through legislative lobbying and education.

Michigan Horse Council
The Michigan Horse Council lobbies for horse owners in Michigan and is a member of the American Horse Council. MHC has representation for breed and discipline horse organizations throughout the state. MHC hosts the International Stallion Exhibition and Trade Show, offers scholarships, supports trails activity and lobbies Michigan Legislation on the behalf of the Michigan horse industry.

Michigan Department of Agriculture
The Michigan Department of Agriculture’s mission is “To serve, promote and protect the food, agricultural, environmental and economic interests of the people of Michigan.” Information on the MDA Web site of interest to horse owners includes: Right to Farm Act, Manure Management Utilization GAAMPs, Revised EIA Testing Requirements, Riding Stables and Horse Racing Licensing Information and transporting equines into Michigan.

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
USDA provides help to the farmer and rancher and protects the consumer. The National Animal Health Monitoring System (NAHMS) Equine Studies provides information on the health of the U.S. equine population and information on animal health concerns identified by industry members, Federal and State agencies, and researchers.  This site also includes the 1996 Michigan Equine Monitoring System Statistics.
