Jeremy Lind is a Human Geographer specialising in conflict and violence in pastoral areas of the Horn of Africa. His research examines the influences and impacts of economic development and extractionist and other resource development on conflicts and livelihoods, particularly in northern Kenya. Currently he is working with local researchers and advocacy groups in Turkana to investigate and document local perceptions and conflicts around oil development. His other research explores the dynamics of livelihood change and resilience, and the role of social protection programming. He has extensive advisory experience on Ethiopia’s PSNP as well as dryland programming in Kenya.
