Dr. Buskirk’s program emphasizes the improvement of profitability and competitive advantages of stocker and cow/calf operations in Michigan. The focus of this extension and research program is to work on areas that advance a coordinated, sustainable beef production system in the eastern corn belt. This has availed opportunities to work not only on Michigan-based teams, but to also align with others in the eastern corn belt region in both extension and research programs.
